First Baptist Church
FULL COVERAGE PANEL MURAL
From a stark brick facade to a colorful, inviting mural that shares the community values of First Baptist Church
Design
I anchored the design with the Tree of Life concept. There are several scenes throughout the design, featuring a variety of elements that represent or serve as visual metaphors for the church's values. The left side is a nighttime scene, and the right side is a daytime scene. The tree itself is the earth, representing the global community that the church welcomes.
Painting Process
For this project, the client wanted a temporary installation on the brick facade so we went with aluminum panels. I painted them off-site, and then contractors installed them onto the building.

Testimonial
“The FBC Indianapolis building has had a large, blank, brick wall facing the corner of 86th and College for more than 60 years. We wanted to enliven and beautify the wall while also sharing a bit about who we are as a church and what we value.
“I love the mural Siena created for us! It expresses our values and leans into joy. The bright colors and playful imagery bring beauty to an otherwise boring and intimidating wall.
“Siena is an incredible, thoughtful artist and a patient collaborator. She provided us with a clear process and responded promptly to our requests for edits and adjustments. She did an excellent job of interpreting our many and varied interests into one cohesive project.
“Siena's understanding of large-scale public art as medicine fits so well with our goals for this mural to touch the hearts of our neighbors and express the values of our faith community to all who pass by!”
