Indy Design Week

The theme for Indy Design Week 2026 was Field Guide, which focused on the work before the work people see. I struggled with how to represent that in a letterpress poster, but the creative process came through for me.

I played with letters to create a “pipe” by lining up their edges. I created a serpentine pipeline as a visual metaphor for how the creative process can feel like zigs and zags.

The fine folks at Tribune Showprint in Muncie, IN, welcomed me to print the 50 posters at their shop on a Vandercook printing press.
