Design Concept

As a community project, I presented a pre-existing illustration that met the project goals and allowed me the opportunity to paint something I loved. This made the below-market-value budget work for me because I did not have to spend time creating a new design. There are ways to make compromises that keep the client and artist happy.

Installation

I painted this with two assistants over a couple of chilly days in October. We had a great time all bundled up, drinking hot cocoa to keep our fingers warm.

Folks from the neighborhood popped out to say thank you for the new artwork. Walking the dog around the block became way more visually interesting!

Final Result

“Nurtured by Nature” is a phrase that popped into my head one day, and now it’s something I can share with the world. This mural is a love letter to the natural world and an encouragement to get outside on a regular basis. Just like the arts, time in nature is vital to our well-being!
