This collaborative artwork reflects the heart of Indianapolis and the impact of investing in youth who are rebuilding their lives

Design Concepts

To start things off, I met with 91 Place residents to hear their stories and what’s important to them. Next, I created designs that reflected their experiences through visual imagery. Residents and staff selected the final design.

the heart of the project:

Celebrate the strength and stories of young adults overcoming homelessness and poverty

Painting Process

Because the building is historic, the mural needed to be installed on aluminum panels (technically temporary). So, I painted the panels off-site. I transferred the design onto aluminum panels using a grid method.

I offered painting sessions at the Stutz open to 91 Place staff, residents, volunteers, and community members. This collaborative approach reflects the heart of 91 Place’s mission: fostering community, compassion, and transformation.

“What sets Siena apart is her dedication to collaboration. She didn't just paint a mural; she co-created an artwork with input from 91 Place residents and staff.

Working with Siena was an absolute pleasure,

and I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking not just a mural, but an unforgettable artistic experience.”
